Katherine’s technical knowledge and project management skills have been developed over fifteen years of diverse professional experience. Highlights from her practice include:

  • Developing a strategic sustainability plan for one of the nation’s largest and most wide-ranging urban redevelopment projects
  • Authoring the first strategic sustainability plan adopted by the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration
  • Providing land use, policy and financial consulting services to two state Departments of Transportation (NC and FL) to advance proposed commuter rail corridors
  • Advising over twenty-five real estate (re)development projects on land planning and sustainable development practices
  • Helping to design and implement three corporate sustainability initiatives
  • Editing and producing five corporate sustainability reports
  • Co-managing the green building aspects of a historic office redevelopment that earned the highest rating from the U.S. Green Building Council (LEED Platinum)
  • Assessing ecological risk and remediating hazardous waste sites
  • Drafting expert opinions in major environmental lawsuits
  • Conducting research in land economics and urban planning at three leading universities
