Strategy and Management for Sustainable Cities

Katherine K. Hehalcyon cropnderson, AICP, LEED-AP is an urban planner who helps implement complex transportation and sustainable (re)development projects. She specializes in articulating the economic value of these projects to raise awareness among stakeholders, secure funding and catalyze the political process. Her experience covers a wide range of related disciplines, including land use planning, infrastructure finance, green building (LEED), brownfield redevelopment, environmental science and sustainability planning for institutions. Katherine recently teamed with Southface on the first Sustainability Action Plan for the Atlanta BeltLine, one of the nation’s largest and most wide-ranging urban redevelopment programs.

Katherine also taught as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the College of Design, Construction & Planning at the University of Florida, where she originated a course titled “Developing Sustainable Projects.” She holds a Masters degree from the Department of City & Regional Planning at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
